Feeling slightly silly writing a fashion post after all the really important social and self love subjects we have been tackling. But hey, I guess we are a fashion brand too! I believe you can be passionate about making a positive change in the world and also expressing yourself through what you wear.

As you know I LOVE wearing Dazey everyday and finding fun and new ways to style a graphic tee. One of my recent favorites is wearing overalls or a strapped garment with one side down showing off the graphic, like my first look below. I have started seeing you guys and some boutiques that carry dazey try this look as well and it makes me SO HAPPY!  

The looks below were all shot on different days around Los Angeles with actual outfits I happened to be wearing. I enlisted the help of two of my favorites @phillipbutler and @officiallyquilgey to snap them for me :) Hope it gives you a little outfit inspo! 

From LA to Reno

I have been quite the traveler lately! Wedding season has me going all over the country and last week's destination was Reno, Nevada for my sister's wedding. I drove up from LA with a few of my best childhood friends and my boyfriend. We took the 395 N most of the way up and wow what a gorgeous drive. There were scenic views, vast and varied landscapes, and so many cute little towns!

I was both the maid of honor and photographer for the wedding so I brought my camera along. Luckily my bags were packed with Dazey so I could snap some fun photos along the way. Always a huge thanks to Phillip for being my "Instagram husband" and taking awesome photos :) 

There were so many cute motel signs, as a graphic designer heavily inspired by vintage type I could hardly keep it together! We snapped photos in front of a few as well as some incredible landscapes. If you're ever on your way to Reno or Mammoth be sure to stop by Red Rock and the adorable town of Lee Vining! 

 

 

This past weekend I flew out to Chicago for @officiallyquigley’s wedding. My boyfriend @phillipbutler and I decided we may as well make a mini vacation out of the trip! We love exploring new cities and I had never been. My dad lived in Chicago years ago when he first moved to America and always had great things to say about it. Other than him I really hadn’t heard a whole lot about the city, so I feel like I was able to go there with a clean slate and no preconceived expectations. Let’s just say it did NOT disappoint! Everything was incredible, from the gorgeous architecture, to the vast blue lake, and the adorable brick filled and tree lined neighborhoods like Wicker Park. This is one under rated city! I really fell in love with Chicago. If it wasn’t for the wild winters (so I’ve heard) I would move there in a heartbeat! 

We were only in town for about three days so we were scrambling to get everything in! Wicker Park and Logan Square were adorable and the ultra hip parts of the city, so we spent a lot of time eating, drinking, and shopping in that area. We love to ask the locals where to go so we can see the city from their perspective. We always play the “what if we lived here” game in all of the places we visit :) Phillip and I normally shy away from the touristy stuff but actually had an amazing time seeing the landmarks and just being in awe of Chicago. Seeing everything from the Sky Deck was so cool, the buildings and lake just went on forever. The city planning, overall organization, and cleanliness of the streets was unlike any city I’ve seen before. It seemed like every building, bridge, and art installation was so thought out and made with intention. I highly recommend visiting if you haven’t, I’ll certainly be back soon!

As many of you know I (@danidazey) have been challenged myself to wear #dazeyeveryday. 

It’s been well over 3 months and I am proud to say I have not broken said challenge! I love having to get creative and find fun ways to dress my Dazey. It has inspired all sorts of unique looks I would have never thought of otherwise!

The other day my boyfriend, on his own volition, decided to start a men’s lifestyle blog under his name @phillipbutler (give him a follow hehe). I was SO excited about this because after years of him begrudgingly helping me take photos for Dazey and my personal insta, I no longer have to feel bad! He’s a self proclaimed “Instagram husband who’s decided to turn the camera on himself”. Phillip plans to approach the “man blog” in a semi tongue-and-cheek manor, the sarcastic little bugger! But he does have great taste in clothes, tunes, interiors, food, drinks, and is dashingly handsome if I do say to myself ;) 

That being said, I now have a willing photographer to help me do outfit photoshoots! I’m normally behind the camera, but have been wanting to share some of my #dazeyeveryday looks. We headed to one of our favorite LA areas the Arts District for our first shoot. Lots of cool walls and rustic textures, perfect for his man blog haha. I plan on having a little bi-monthly post on some of my new favorite Dazey outfits!

When you think of "Jeans and a tee" you likely imagine a very casual run-of-the-mill outfit. Not here at Dazey! I’ve partnered with one of my favorite denim brands, AG Jeans, to show you four fun ways to dress up your Dazey & denim. As you may know I’ve been challenging myself to wear #dazeyeveryday and it’s helped me discover so many fun ways to wear a graphic tee. It just requires a little thinking outside the box and some fun accessorizing! 

 

Top Tips:

1. Try an overall and tee combo! The AG jeans with suspenders are great for showing off the graphic! I have become obsessed with this style. Leaving one strap down allows the graphic to peak out a bit which gives the usually “cutesie” overalls and edge.

2. Wear unexpected shoes. One easy way to dress up denim is with a funky heel. Here I’m keeping it semi-summer casual with wedges and mules, but they really do the trick!

3. An accessory is key. I love dressing up my Dazey with playful accessories. Try a scarf, hat, funky earrings (like our macrame or pom earrings), or a statement necklace or choker. You don’t need a ton, but one or two looks great.

4. Denim dresses for the win! Nothing screams summer like a nice denim dress. By pairing it with a simple text tee it makes this look more casual, perfect for a BBQ.

 Coachella is a music festival, but the fashion has become almost just as important! People dress to the nines showing off some of the most wild outfits imaginable. Eye sparkles and cliche flower crowns are the norm. There's a ton of satire videos poking fun at it online, but it's honestly amazing and set's a standard for fashion all summer long. People watching is my favorite way to get design inspiration!

I recently started a silly challenge for myself I like to call the "Dazey Everyday Challenge". So of course I had to carry it into Coachella! I love pushing the boundaries on how people can style their graphic tees. They can so easily be dressed up and made into a complete and killer look! I often wear Dazey on top of dresses, under overalls, or paired with turtlenecks. For Coachella, the heat can be a challenge on the layering front, but I wouldn't let that stop me! I chose to use statement accessories like hats, fun shoes, jewelry, and of course my favorite- the sparkles! I just wish I could wear them everyday :) Hope this gives you a little bit of inspo on how to style your tee to a T!
